City of Ember
Author

Review
This book is absolutely FABULOUS!!! It chronicles a post-apocalyptic city called Ember (well, duh ;D). The sky over Ember is constantly black, the only light provided by light bulbs strewn all across the city. When our story starts, Ember is beginning to fall apart, and the light bulbs have started to go out completely for a few minutes. It's up to two kids, Lina and Doon, to uncover the shocking secrets of Ember before the entire city is plunged into pitch black--forever.

I really, REALLY enjoyed reading this book. It is very unique and suspenseful and bears a bit of resemblance to the Hunger Games despite being written first. Who knows? Maybe Suzanne Collins got her inspiration from this book....  Find it here!

Peanuts 2000/It's a Dog's Life, Charlie Brown/Charlie Brown All-Stars
Author

Review
This review describes three different books but they are by the same author and are basically the same, so I thought I'd group them together. Each book is a huge collection of Peanuts comics. One consists of strips that all relate to sports. The other two together chronicle the last two years the Peanuts comic strip ran. Peanuts 2000, which is the last year of the comic, has a strange sense of finality surrounding it. I would definitely recommend these books for fans of Charlie Brown and those who don't know much about the series. It is really cute to see little kids discussing "grown-up" topics...;)  Find it here!
